You can also grind to help your score increase and to earn more XP. Getting XP by doing quests is a much faster way then by simple grinding. Concentrate on doing mostly quests untill you reach level 60, as this will yield more xp points per hour then any other task.
At low level, just starting out your best bet it quests and auctioning off any unneeded mats. If you want to level fast,while leveling you can also just choose two farming trades to make money and selling off what you farm in the AH.
WoW questing system is very good and will keep your quest log full and updated by directing you to new and exciting leveling zones.
