Without this gear, leveling and player vs. player becomes extremely difficult and will put you at a disadvantage. In WoW, you will need gold in order to equip your character with essential gear.

Of course you can level and still enjoy the game without having a massive sum of gold, but shouldn't everyone try to make the most of their online gaming experience by accumulating and spending their gold?
